Description
LS740HD is a compact laser projector for a room where a shared large image is more useful than a small display. Its native Full HD resolution suits presentations and video, and the optical zoom gives some flexibility when choosing a shelf or ceiling position. Start with the required image size, then match the room distance to the lens.
The matched-UPC manufacturer datasheet identifies this configuration as 5000 ANSI lumens. Brightness labels on newer regional pages are not a reason to silently upgrade the specification of the listed unit. The useful buying details are its actual resolution, throw range, inputs and room fit, with image brightness also affected by screen size, surface and ambient light.
Features
- Native Full HD: 1920 × 1080 imaging with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
- Laser-phosphor source: Rated for 20,000 hours Normal or up to 30,000 hours in the specified Eco mode.
- Optical zoom: 1.3× adjustment helps accommodate practical mounting positions.
- Geometry tools: Horizontal/vertical keystone and four-corner adjustment assist final alignment.
- Two HDMI inputs: Connect compatible presentation and media sources without assuming network video input.
- Built-in sound: A 15 W speaker provides an integrated presentation-audio option.

Check distance and control connections
For a 100-inch diagonal 16:9 image, the image width is approximately 87.2 inches. Multiplying by the throw ratio gives an approximate lens-to-screen range of 8.2–10.7 feet. This calculation helps shortlist a location; use the manufacturer’s installation guidance for final screen offset, ventilation and mounting clearance.
| Control system | RS232 is listed. An Ethernet/LAN control port is not shown in the matched model specification. |
|---|---|
| Laptop connection | Plan an HDMI adapter when needed; USB-A here is not a general USB-C laptop docking connection. |
| Larger image | Check room lighting and screen gain rather than assuming the same brightness at every image size. |

Common questions
Does this listing have an Ethernet control port?
The matched manufacturer sheet lists RS232 and does not list LAN. Plan control around verified ports rather than the old generic catalog claim.
Is the native image 4K?
No. The LS740HD is a native 1080p projector.
Is it a short-throw projector?
Use its 1.13–1.47 throw ratio for planning. It needs more distance than a dedicated short-throw model with a ratio around 0.5.
Does the laser rating remove all maintenance?
No. Source-life estimates do not replace normal cleaning, ventilation checks or attention to other components.
