The Sandusky 244879GY is a welded steel flat file storage cabinet with five drawers for storing and archiving documents, blueprints, and art, among others. The drawers in this cabinet have chrome handle pulls for resistance to corrosion, and they extend on case-hardened ball-bearing slides to facilitate smooth open and close operations. The drawers contain depressors in the front and hoods in the back to help keep paper from curling. A single top lock secures all drawers with one key for security. Two keys are provided for the lock. This flat file storage cabinet can be stacked with other Sandusky 244885 or 244879 flat file storage cabinets for expanded storage space, and it comes with label holders to facilitate the identification of the contents in each drawer. The cabinet has leg levelers for use on uneven surfaces, and a powder coat finish to resist chipping and corrosion. It is commonly used for organizing and storing documents in architectural, graphic design, and professional office environments, among others.
The cabinet measures 16-1/8 x 46-3/4 x 35-3/8 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) The interior drawer dimensions are 1-7/8 x 43-3/8 x 32-3/8 inches (H x W x D). The handles and label holders on this cabinet require assembly. The Assembly instructions are included, and assembly tools are sold separately.
Cabinets are commonly used to store items to help create organized, efficient, and safe work areas. These systems typically consist of a frame with three walls that support adjustable or fixed-position shelves, one or two doors and handles. Added components may include locks for applications that require security and casters or wheels for applications that require mobility. Cabinets are used in a variety of office, industrial, educational, and residential settings.
