It operates in DECT 6.0, so it doesn't suffer from wireless networks' signal interference. The cordless handset includes an RF module to be plugged at the back of your base telephone. H5401RE1 offers intercom, call transfer, and intercom. It is also compatible for call waiting and caller ID services (must be subscribed with your local telephone company's services). This handset uses a digital security system to prevent unauthorized access, false ringing, and charges to your phone line. NOTE: This handset does NOT operate independently and can only be used with RCA 25423/25424/25425 desk phones.
