Description
The ME8ERGLO(N) is the headrest-free version of the original Ergohuman mesh chair. Its separated lower and upper back sections create the model’s recognizable silhouette, while the mesh seat keeps the sitting surface open. It is a useful configuration to consider when you want a substantial adjustment set without a headrest above the main back.
The chair provides controls for seat position, backrest height and reclining behavior, along with adjustable arms. Its mesh seat feels different from a padded leather or fabric cushion, so the type of contact surface is as important as the list of adjustments. This listing is for the original ME8ERGLO(N), not a newer GEN2 model.
Features
- All-mesh seat and back: provide an open surface rather than a thick upholstered cushion.
- Headrest-free design: keeps the chair’s upper profile lower than the high-back Ergohuman.
- Seat-depth adjustment: changes the seat position relative to the back.
- Back-height adjustment: helps place the lower support area where it fits the sitter.
- Adjustable arms: provide height and pad-angle settings for forearm positioning.
- Synchro-tilt recline: coordinates seat and back movement, with tension and lock controls.

Compare the three main contact points
Start by checking whether your feet are supported at the seat height you need for the desk. Next, set the seat depth so the front edge clears the backs of your knees. Only then position the backrest and armrests. This sequence makes it easier to distinguish a seat-fit problem from a back-support preference.
| Seat | Mesh suspension has a framed edge; try your normal working posture and leg position. |
|---|---|
| Lower back | Position the backrest so the lower section supports you while you sit against it. |
| Arms | Keep forearms supported without lifting the shoulders or forcing elbows outward. |
| Head and neck | This model has no headrest; compare with a high-back model if reclined head support is a priority. |
Common questions
Is this chair all mesh?
Yes. Both the seat and back are specified as mesh. The LEM6ERGLO is the related model with a padded leather seat and mesh back.
Can I add a headrest later?
A headrest is not included. Do not assume a universal accessory will fit the original back structure; confirm model-specific parts compatibility before planning a retrofit.
What is the difference between tilt tension and tilt lock?
Tension changes how much resistance you feel when reclining. The lock controls the back’s resting position. Adjust tension first so movement feels manageable, then choose the position you need.
Do current GEN2 instructions apply?
Use the manual for ME7ERG(N)/ME8ERG(N), which includes the ME8ERGLO backrest. Similar names do not guarantee that a later mechanism, lumbar control or replacement part is compatible.
