Description
The DS-940DW is made for small scanning jobs where portability matters more than a large automatic feeder. Feed a receipt, form or two-sided document through the narrow scanner and capture it without occupying the space of a desktop all-in-one.
Its rechargeable battery and wireless connection make it useful between work locations. The opening paper-return lid reduces the clear space required behind the scanner. You still feed sheets individually, so choose a desktop ADF model instead if most jobs involve long stacks of paperwork.

A portable capture kit
Keep the supplied USB cable with the scanner and recharge before taking it off-site. If standalone capture is important, install a supported microSD card and test the complete save-and-retrieve process in advance. A saved image is only useful once you know where to find it.

Common questions
Is a microSD card included?
No. The card is a separate purchase. Choose a supported card and follow the model instructions for preparation and retrieval.
Can it scan a stack automatically?
No. It is a single-sheet portable scanner. Its compact size trades batch-feeding convenience for easy transport and a smaller working area.
Does it need a computer for every scan?
With a charged battery and supported microSD card, it can capture standalone jobs. Computer and mobile workflows have their own software and connection requirements.
Will OCR happen inside the scanner?
Searchable text and document processing depend on the compatible software workflow. Do not assume that every image saved directly to a card already contains searchable text.
