The ADS-4700W is designed around repeated office scanning: contracts, invoices and multi-page records can be captured from a stack rather than one sheet at a time. Its two image sensors read both sides together, making mixed single- and double-sided paperwork easier to process.
The larger touchscreen is useful where several people send scans to different destinations. Custom shortcuts reduce repeated menu steps once the destination and settings are configured. Set up shared scanning clearly
A useful shared scanner should make the correct destination obvious. Name shortcuts by the job or department and test the saved file permissions from the receiving computer. Plan where incoming and finished paper will sit so the output stack stays separate from unscanned originals.

Common questions
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Ethernet supports a wired network and USB supports a local computer. Choose the connection that fits your office infrastructure.
What is the difference between ppm and ipm?
Pages per minute counts sheets fed. Images per minute counts scanned sides. A two-sided sheet creates two images, which explains the 40 ppm / 80 ipm rating.
Can it scan bound books?
It is a sheet-fed scanner, not a flatbed. Use another method for books or originals that should not travel through the feeder.
Are every software feature and cloud destination available on every OS?
No. Driver, application and service availability varies. Verify the current model downloads and the receiving application before planning a specific automated workflow.
