Description
The WorkForce Pro WF-7840 is designed around documents that need more space: tabloid spreadsheets, plans, layouts and presentation material. Its wide-format scanner matters as much as its wide printer when the original itself is larger than Letter paper.
Two front cassettes let an office keep everyday and larger paper ready. The pigment cartridge system is geared toward business documents, while the 4.3-inch touchscreen gives walk-up access to copying, scanning and fax functions. Plan for a substantial work surface and an unobstructed output area.

A larger printer for larger originals
Before a long print run, make a one-page proof with a ruler or known-size reference. “Fit to page” can change the scale of a plan even when the printer accepts the correct paper size. For diagrams that must remain to scale, choose the required actual-size setting and check the result.

Common questions
Is the WF-7840 an EcoTank?
No. It uses individual Epson 812-family ink cartridges. Standard, XL and black XXL options have different yields; use the exact compatible cartridge designation.
Does it automatically duplex 13 × 19-inch paper?
No. The maximum supported single-sided sheet is larger than the automatic duplex limit. Epson lists supported duplex sizes up to tabloid/A3 class.
Can it scan a large two-sided original?
Yes, the wide ADF supports two-sided scanning within its documented size and media limits. Remove staples and check the required loading direction.
Are photo speed and document speed the same?
No. The stated ISO speeds describe document test patterns. Large graphics, high-quality settings and specialty paper can substantially increase print time.
