The MAXIFY GX7020 is the document-focused choice in this pair of MAXIFY models when you need both fax and automatic two-sided scanning. Its 600-sheet combined plain-paper capacity reduces tray refills, while separate feeds let you prepare different paper sizes or stocks.
Four refillable pigment-ink tanks serve text, tables and color business graphics. The benefit is practical: a shared printer can handle recurring reports and digitize signed packets without a second scanner beside it. Its 2.7-inch touchscreen provides local access to the configured functions.

Use the three paper feeds deliberately
For a shared office, test printing and scanning as two separate workflows. Print a two-sided report, then scan a small duplex packet to the final folder or account. Confirm that the destination works for the intended users and that page order, orientation and filenames are useful.

Common questions
How does it differ from the GX6020?
The GX7020 adds fax, single-pass duplex scanning and a second front cassette. Its combined plain-paper input is 600 sheets, versus 350 on the GX6020.
Can it scan Legal-size originals?
Yes, through the supported ADF workflow. The flatbed scan area is shorter than Legal paper, so it cannot capture a full Legal sheet on the glass in one scan.
Does refillable ink eliminate maintenance?
No. Keep the correct inks available and follow the cleaning and maintenance-cartridge instructions. Initial filling and maintenance consume some ink as well as printed pages.
Is there a model-specific support notice to check?
Canon lists an ink-leakage repair advisory for early GX7020 serial numbers KNFM00001–KNFM01079. Check the label against the linked advisory; it does not apply to every GX7020.
