- Single-monitor arm with two-piece desk clamp
Description
The M2.1 is a practical choice when a lightweight monitor’s fixed stand leaves the screen too low, too far away or in the middle of needed desk space. Its articulated links let you bring the display toward your work and reposition it when moving from concentrated reading to sharing a screen.
Fit depends on the monitor without its original stand, its rear mounting pattern and the desk edge. A diagonal screen measurement alone is not enough. This listing is the M2.1 generation; the higher weight limits of the newer M2 Pro do not apply.
Features
- Counterbalanced movement: supports repeated screen positioning after tension is adjusted for the installed monitor.
- Two-piece clamp: attaches the base to a suitable desktop edge.
- Angled and dynamic links: provide an articulated path between the base and display.
- Smart Stop: limits rotation to help control the arm’s movement around a wall or neighboring equipment.
- Cable management: routes display cables along the arm instead of leaving a loose bundle across the desk.

Check three points before choosing an arm
Once installed, set the counterbalance before judging whether the arm holds its position. Leave a relaxed cable loop at moving joints and test the full working range so a short cable does not pull on the screen connector.
| Monitor | Check stand-free weight, mounting holes and any recessed-port obstruction. |
|---|---|
| Desktop | Check edge thickness, underside access and the desk maker’s suitability for a clamp. |
| Working space | Allow rear and side clearance through the movement you actually need. |
Common questions
Will it work with any lightweight screen?
The monitor must be within both ends of the 5–15.5 lb range and have a compatible rear mount. A screen below the minimum can be too light to balance correctly.
Is this the newer M2 Pro?
No. It is the M2.1. Humanscale identifies the legacy model as a 5–15.5 lb arm, while the later Pro model has a different rating.
Does the clamp work on a glass desk?
Do not assume so. Confirm the desktop manufacturer’s approval and suitable installation hardware before applying a concentrated clamp load.
Does it include a monitor or USB dock?
No monitor or docking accessory is specified in this configuration. This listing is for the described arm, base and monitor-mount arrangement.
