Description

Amia brings a fully upholstered seat and back to a raised work surface. In this stool configuration, the taller cylinder and adjustable footring support a higher seated position while retaining the familiar Amia adjustment controls. Black upholstery and black structural components give the stool a restrained office appearance.

LiveLumbar sits inside the backrest and can be moved vertically to position its support. A sliding seat, flexible front edge and four-way arms help you adapt the chair to your leg length and work surface. Recline resistance is set manually, and an upright lock is available when you want to limit backward movement.

Features

  • 23–31 inch seat range: provides 8 inches of height travel for raised working positions.
  • Height-adjustable LiveLumbar: lets you position the support within the upholstered back.
  • Four-way arms: adjust in height, width, depth and pivot.
  • Sliding seat: offers 3 inches of adjustment for usable seat depth.
  • Flexible seat edge: accommodates movement at the front of the cushion.
  • Adjustable footring: supports the feet when the seat is raised above floor-reaching height.

Check the raised-desk fit

Measure the seated working height you intend to use, even if the desk can rise much higher. A stool that reaches the counter but cannot lower enough can be inconvenient for daily work. Leave space behind the stool to recline and to move away from the desk before standing.

Check the raised-desk fit
Minimum seat height The stool starts at 23 in, so it may remain too tall for a conventional desk.
Working position Match the seat to the keyboard or work area, then adjust the footring.
Leg clearance Check the counter apron, supports and any under-desk storage.
Arm placement Position the pads without lifting your shoulders or obstructing desk approach.
Floor surface The listed hard wheels are normally used on carpet; verify wheel suitability for a hard floor.

A straightforward adjustment sequence

Set seat height first and establish foot support. Next, slide the cushion until its front edge leaves comfortable space behind your knees while your back stays against the backrest. Position LiveLumbar and the arm pads, then tune recline resistance.

The upright lock and tension control serve different purposes. The lock limits recline near the upright position; tension changes the resistance when movement is allowed. Amia does not provide Leap's five-position back-stop system.
