Description
The ScanSnap iX1300 is designed for a desk where an extended output tray would take up too much room. Its U-turn paper path brings ordinary document sheets back toward the top of the unit, making small recurring batches practical beside a computer.
A separate front return path handles suitable individual items that should not travel through the U-turn feeder. Together, the two paths make this a useful personal document station for receipts, forms and everyday correspondence. It operates with ScanSnap Home rather than a generic TWAIN scanning driver.

Choose the feed path, then the destination
Make a short test with the type of original you scan most often. Check whether the default removes a deliberately blank reverse side, rotates a landscape page correctly and saves to the folder you expect. A compact scanner is easiest to use when one well-named profile handles the routine job.

Common questions
Can it be used with a TWAIN application?
It does not provide a TWAIN or ISIS driver. Scan using ScanSnap Home and open the resulting supported files in your other application; that is different from scanning directly through TWAIN.
Is it battery powered?
No. Wi-Fi removes the data-cable requirement, but the scanner still uses its AC power supply. It is compact rather than a cordless battery scanner.
Does 30 ppm apply to every quality setting?
No. Higher-resolution and processing settings can reduce speed. Choose a setting appropriate to the original and the intended use instead of selecting the largest file by default.
What should I check before using ScanSnap Cloud?
Install the current supported ScanSnap Home software and firmware, and confirm service availability. Ricoh states that updated firmware is required for continued ScanSnap Cloud use from April 9, 2026.
