Its wide format accommodates the familiar 4 × 6-inch shipping label, while 300 dpi output keeps small text and barcode edges clear on suitable artwork. DYMO Connect for Desktop provides a workflow for creating address, inventory and other custom labels.
Automatic Label Recognition identifies the supported DYMO roll and shows its size, type and remaining quantity. That helps staff check supplies before starting a batch. Does the 5XL have Wi-Fi or AirPrint?
Its specified connections are USB and Ethernet LAN. It is not a native Wi-Fi or AirPrint model.
Can I use generic thermal label rolls?
DYMO specifies authentic compatible LabelWriter labels for the 5XL. Do not select it on the assumption that generic rolls used in another printer will be accepted.
Does it print labels from shipping websites?
Yes, when the service supplies a supported label format and your computer/software workflow can send it to the printer. The printer itself does not purchase postage.
Is it a color printer?
No. Direct thermal output is monochrome. You can print dark artwork onto compatible labels, but it does not reproduce full-color photographs.
