It is designed to improve the security of information being shared across federal networks, while maintaining information quality, increasing manageability, and lowering costs. () Compact, Convenient, and Simple to Use The ScanFront 300 CAC/PIV is compact at 3.6 (H) x 12.2 (W) x 8.7 (D) inches and is a fraction of the size of smiliar products. With the 8.4 inch SVGA LCD touch screen, it is convenient for a wide view of scanned documents. It is simple to use with four USB ports to directly connect a CAC/PIV-compliant card reader (sold separately): Reader scr131, Reader scr3310, and Reader scr3311. You can also directly route documents to e-mail, PC shared folder, FTP server, USB memory, fax, or printer. A Wide Variety of Applications Common Access Cards (CACs), issued by the Department of Defense (DoD), and other Personal Identification Verification (PIV)-compliant cards, are components of the federal government’s initiative to control access to their facilities and information systems. The ScanFront 300 CAC/PIV scanner is designed to recognize these cards in order to comply with assurance policies and mandates for sending digital data. Secure network scanning can be found in government entities beyond the DoD such as the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, Justice, Energy, and the Treasury, as well as the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Environmental Protection Agency, and more.
